Come to me at the first sign you are getting one of these, while you still
feel the sore developing for the most dramatic results. You can surely be
worked in within a few minutes of when you call.
When you sit down in my chair, I will have you lie back comfortably and I
will use the laser energy to dry out the surface of the developing lesion.
You will feel only the cool spray of water from the laser at the site of the
lesion. The treatment takes only about 20 seconds.
Fever blisters-
After I am finished you will be able to tell that the surface of the tissue
is a little bit rough, like it would otherwise feel in about 10 days, after
the lesion was in its last stages of being noticed. You will have skipped
the time when the blister bursts and is contagious to your family members.
Probably no one will notice you had an outbreak at all. Your lip may seem
the slightest bit chapped for a few days.
Aphthous ulcers-
The laser energy will both seal off the painful nerve endings in the raw
tissue and kill the viruses which cause, and the bacteria which extend, the
life-span of the sore.
The laser treatment shuts down the life cycle of the virus and makes the
whole lesion fail to develop. The virus goes back into dormancy before it
has a chance to “bloom”. Nothing touches you but the cooling spray of water,
and the laser light during the treatment.
